The Hart & Cooley 4RP12 is a round, fixed-length gas-vent pipe section designed for Type B venting systems. It features a 4-inch nominal inner diameter and is 12 inches long. The unit is constructed with a corrosion-resistant aluminum inner wall (approximately 0.012″ thick) and a galvanized steel outer wall (about 0.018″ thick). The outer diameter is approximately 4-1/2″. One of its key features is the snap-lock coupling / locking band system that ensures secure joints and proper alignment of adjoining pipe/fittings. Because the couplers overlap by approximately 1?″ when connected, the “assembled length” is slightly less than the nominal 12″ listing. The minimum allowable clearance to combustibles is 1″. This pipe is suited for negative-pressure gas-fired heating systems with flue gas temperatures under 550 °F and should not be used for multi-fuel, oil, or incinerator applications.
